Disclosed are an image forming device and a control method thereof. The image forming device comprises a communication interface unit connected to a server in which online output quota information set for each user is stored; a storage unit which stores offline output quota information received from the server; a control unit which determines whether a job is to be performed based on the online output quota information stored in the server when a job command is inputted in an online state of being connected to the server and determines whether a job is to be performed based on the offline output quota information stored in the storage unit when the job command is inputted in an offline state of being disconnected from the server; and an image forming unit which performs an image forming job corresponding to the job command when it is decided by the control unit to perform the job.
