The present invention relates to a spindle motor and a hard disc drive including the same. The spindle motor includes a shaft fixated and installed on a base member and arranged at an upper portion thereof with an upper thrust member protruding radially outward;a sleeve supported to be rotatable by a fluid hydrodynamic pressure of the shaft; a hub extending radially outward from the sleeve; and a sealing cap mounted on the hub and extended axially upward of the upper thrust member to cover a space axially formed between the upper thrust member and the hub. A liquid-vapor interface is formed between the upper thrust member and the sleeve or the hub. An interval between the sealing cap and an axial opposite surface of the upper thrust member is sufficiently narrow to form a reverence seal. The sealing cap can include a curved part which is waved, so that the interval between the sealing cap and the axial opposite surface of the upper thrust member can vary radially.
