The present invention relates to a manufacturing method for a strand and a strand manufactured by the same. In the manufacturing method for a strand, a core wire where a linear sensor such as an optical fiber sensor is embedded in the center thereof is placed in the center, multiple surrounding steel wires are placed around the core wire, and then a strand is manufactured by winding the surrounding steel wires. The strand can have a high accuracy in measurement by firmly integrating the linear sensor with the core wire, can be easily manufactured, and can provide excellent quality by removing concerns over damage to the linear sensor. In the present invention, prepared are a first semi-cross section unit (10) and a second semi-cross section unit (20) where a core wire (1) having a circular cross section is made when the planes thereof are in contact with each other. A concave unit (11) is lengthily extended in the center of the plane of the first semi-cross section unit (10). A linear sensor (3) is placed in the concave unit (11), and an adhesive is filled in the concave unit (11). The core wire (1) is formed by making the plane of the second semi-cross section unit (20) be in contact with the plane of the first semi-cross section unit (10). Surrounding steel wires (2) are placed around the core wire (1) and are wound.
