An apparatus for providing a three-dimensional image according to the present invention comprises: an external device which is assigned to each viewer, and is capable of adjusting a disparity value; a control information/input information storage unit for storing information required for the operation of the external device and information measured by the external device; a communication unit for performing a communication function between the external device and the external device control information/input information storage unit; a viewer information storage unit for storing information used to determine whether the external device is controlled by storing feature information on what a viewer feels while the viewer is watching a three-dimensional image; a three-dimensional image control unit for controlling image information inputted from the outside according to the viewer information stored in the viewer information storage unit; and a three-dimensional image output unit for outputting a three-dimensional image controlled by the three-dimensional image control unit. According to the present invention, an optimal three-dimensional image can be provided to each individual having a different sensitivity of visual fatigue by the same apparatus, and an optimal three-dimensional image can be provided to each individual watching the same apparatus together. By being industrially applied to a display device providing a three-dimensional image directly, a three-dimensional image providing market can be expanded.
