The present invention relates to a device for controlling pulse width modulation. The device for controlling pulse width modulation of the present invention includes a first transistor for outputting an input voltage in response to a first control signal; an inductor connected to an output terminal of the first transistor and generating an output voltage of the device for controlling pulse width modulation; a second transistor connected to a node to which the first transistor and the inductor are connected and reducing the voltage of the inductor in response to a second control signal; a control unit for generating the first and second control signals by sensing the voltage output from an output terminal of the inductor; and a detecting unit for sensing a voltage of the node to allow the device for controlling pulse width modulation to be operated in an asynchronous mode when the node voltage is zero in a standby mode.
