The present invention relates to an air conditioner for a vehicle to prevent air from flowing backward through a console duct which discharges air at all times. The air conditioner for a vehicle includes an air conditioner case (110) comprising an air inlet (111) on the inlet side; a defrost vent (112), a face vent (113), floor vents (114, 115), and a console vent (116), which is branched from the face vent (113) and is partitioned by a partition (110b) and the floor vents (114, 115) to discharge air through a console vent outlet (116h) at the end, on the outlet side; and a backflow prevention rib (125) for partitioning the console vent outlet (116h) into a first console vent bent part (116a) and a second console vent bent part (116b). The air conditioner for a vehicle minimizes rapid changes of flow passages and air volume loss inside the console vent as a joint between the console vent (116) and the first console vent bent part (116a) formed by the backflow prevention rib (125) is made of a console vent bent part (116c) for preventing air volume loss.
