The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for measuring a frequency. The apparatus for measuring a frequency comprises an oscillating unit providing a radio wave signal; an acousto-optic modulating unit outputting a first frequency (f1) corresponding to light ray inputted from a laser and outputting a second frequency (f2) obtained by shifting the first frequency (f1) by a frequency (df) corresponding to the radio wave signal; a differentiating unit differentiating the first frequency (f1) and the second frequency (f2); an optical coupling unit synthesizing the differentiated first frequency (f1) and the differentiated second frequency (f2); an optical searching unit measuring a power value of the synthesized frequency; and a frequency calculating unit calculating the first frequency (f1) based on a factor included in the measured power value. |
