Disclosed are a packet data network type management method, device, and system. The method comprises: a user equipment sending a request message to a wireless local area network access network, the request message carrying a packet data network type requested by the user equipment; the user equipment receiving an acknowledge message returned by the wireless local area network access network to the user equipment, the acknowledge message carrying a packet data network type decided by a network side. The present invention solves the technical problem in the prior art of waste of address resources caused by that addresses corresponding to the packet data network type subscribed to by the user in subscription information are all allocated to the user equipment in advance, thereby achieving the technical effects of reducing the wasted address resources and improving the address resource utilization rate.
