"Spotting" in photographic silver halide material is prevented by incorporating therein 5-sulphosalicylic acid i.e. 2-hydroxy-5-sulphobenzoic acid or a water-soluble salt thereof. The compounds may be incorporated into the support or into the emulsion or other layer. They also act as antistatic agents. |
