OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LINE SWITCHING DEVICE AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LINE SWITCHING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an arbitrary point on an optical fiber constituting a covering as a switching point and facilitate the switching of a line straddling between transmission apparatuses at the time of an accommodation change of the transmission apparatus and the like.SOLUTION: Through the employment of a side light input/output mechanism 3 or an existing optical distribution coupler 7 at two places of an upper part and a lower part of a switching section, an actually used line 1 and a bypass line 2 are constituted. The actually used line 1 is provided with a light temporary interruption mechanism 4, and the bypass line 2 is provided with a light amplification relay mechanism 5. The side light input/output mechanism 3 and the light temporary interruption mechanism 4 are connected to a control unit 6 and can instantaneously switchover the line without affecting the service. Further, the switchover between the transmission apparatuses at the time of an accommodation change of the transmission apparatus is realized by changeover control mentioned above after the existing ONU information is registered in a new OLT100-2 beforehand.
