A mounting for a burner 1 to permit the removal of the burner comprises two supports 10 secured to a front wall 3 of a furnace and each having a track 11 for two pairs of rollers 8, 9 mounted on the burner 1, stops 12, 13 on the supports 10 being provided to limit the movement of the rollers and a further optional stop 14 for limiting the inclination of the burner when the burner is rotated about either pair of the rollers 8, 9. The movement of the burner to an inclined position is effected either by withdrawing the burner 1 until the rollers 8 abut the stops 13 and the pivoting the burner in an anticlockwise direction about the rollers 8 (Fig. 2, not shown) or by lifting the rollers 8 clear of the stops 13 and withdrawing the burner until the rollers 9 abut the stops 13 when the burner 1 may be rotated about the rollers 9 in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). The tracks 11 are slightly inclined toward the front wall of the furnace and may be curved. Instead of tracks 11, parallel edged slots may be provided in the supports 10 in which case more than two pairs of rollers may be employed each having stops for holding them in the slots. A single support may replace the two supports 10. The supports 10 may be secured to the ground instead of to the front wall 3. A trigger pivoted on a handle 2 may be provided and is adapted to operate a device which unlocks the burner from the furnace and simultaneously switches off the electric power supply to the burner. |
