<p>Provided are a metallocene complex that, relative to conventional metallocene catalysts, is capable of more efficiently incorporating anα-olefin and ethylene comonomer during copolymerization of an olefin that contains propylene as a monomer, polymerizing a high-molecular-weight rubber component, and producing a homopolypropylene having a high melting point when propylene is homopolymerized; and a method for polymerizing an olefin in which said complex is used. A metallocene complex represented by general formula [I] (a metallocene complex having a substitution group in the 6th position of an indenyl ring, and a furyl group or a thienyl group optionally having a substitution group in the 2nd position on the indenyl ring), an olefin polymerization catalyst characterized in containing the metallocene complex, an olefin polymerization method characterized in that polymerization or copolymerization of an olefin is performed using said olefin polymerization catalyst.</p> |
