摘要 <p>The present invention describes a novel configuration for a simulated countercurrent para-xylene manufacturing unit composed by two absorbers, wherein the volume which a solid adsorbent occupies is reduced by at least 8% compared to the volume of a solid adsorbent contained in the absorbers of a unit by a conventional technology. The novel configuration can be used for minimizing the solid adsorbent amount needed for manufacturing a given amount of the para-xylene.</p>
