PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition capable of forming a colored layer achieving both high heat resistance and good voltage retention rate.SOLUTION: A coloring composition contains (A) a coloring agent constituted by an anion represented by the formula (1) and at least one cationic chromophore selected from a group consisting of cationic chromophores such as a triarylmethane-based cationic chromophore, (B) a binder resin and (C) a polymerizable compound. In the formula (1), X represents a divalent hydrocarbon group, Y represents a halo group or a halogenated hydrocarbon group and the like, and Rrepresents an alkyl group.
