By being provided with a power source, an electrode gap formed by an electrode and a workpiece, and a stray ground capacitance current control coil inserted between the power source and the electrode gap, this electrical discharge machining device is able to limit current from stray ground capacitance during electrical discharge machining by enabling reduction of the impedance of a charging channel from the power source to electrode gap capacitors (a capacitor parallel to the electrode gap and stray capacitance parallel to the electrode gap) while increasing impedance of a charging channel to the stray ground capacitance.
