In the present invention, a spring operation device for a switch is provided with the following: an interlocking rod (41) one end of which is attached to a lock plate (32); and an activation electromagnet (16) having a plunger (17) on which a flange (17a) is disposed. The lock plate (32) is pushed by a lock member (30) that is attached to a four-joint link (43) and thereby the pivot position thereof is changed. The other end of the interlocking rod (41), at the time of an open circuit operation for a switch connection, is disposed above the flange (17a) and as a result blocks the advancement of the plunger of the activation electromagnet (16) thereby blocking the pivoting of an activation trigger (83), and at the time of a close circuit operation for the switch connection, is disposed at a position that does not block the advancement of the plunger (17) of the activation electromagnet (16) thereby allowing the pivoting of the activation trigger (83). This configuration enables, using a simple configuration, a close circuit operation to be prevented during an open circuit operation, and to do so without adding a new circuit.
