In a structure comprising tubular, rod-like or other structural members joined together, and connecting means 1 connecting at an angle to one of the members 4 at least a further one of the members 5, the connecting means comprises a split collar 2 composed of sheet material, the collar conforming in shape to and surrounding the first member 4 and for each of the further members, a pair of lever-like extensions 3, 3, on the collar 2 and extending from the collar at an angle to the first member, each from a different side of a split in the collar, the pair of lever-like extensions 3, 3 being held forcibly together at coacting surfaces extending lengthwise of the lever-like extensions by a tubular end part of the further member 5 which is tight-fitted over the extensions, the split collar thereby being held circumferentially stretched within the elastic limit of its material, in tight grasping relation around the first member 4. As shown, in which the members 4 and 5 are connected together in T-formation, the extensions 3, 3 in the normal free state diverge in the direction away from the collar. In another arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown), in which the member 4 is connected at right angles to a member 5 at each side thereof, the collar 2 is in two parts, each part carrying one of the extensions of each pair. In other arrangements, Figs. 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12 (not shown), the collar of the connecting means by which one or a pair of the members 5 is or are connected to the member 4, extends beyond the sides of the lever-like extensions 3, 3. In other arrangements, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), the collar is in two and four parts respectively, the collar parts each having an inner arc length slightly less than the corresponding part of the outer circumference of the member 4.
