Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a media content scheduling method, system and device, the method comprising: a client terminal establishes a live broadcast service session with a first media server through the scheduling of a scheduling server; receiving a time shifting service request from the current channel, and if the first media server does not support the time shifting service of the current channel, then disconnecting the live broadcast service session with the first media server; initiating the time shifting service request from the current channel to the scheduling server; and transmitting a time shifting service request to a second media server according to a time shifting service response from the scheduling server, so as to establish a time shifting service session with the second media server. The media content scheduling method in the embodiment of the present invention avoids the problem of wasting storage resources due to the fact that time shifting programs are recorded by all media servers.
