The invention also relates to a method for operating the electric unit (1) for a pump-storage power plant. The method provides that the electric machine (2) is synchronised with a frequency of the current network (6) and is operated synchronously with the current network (6) independent of the operating state of the pump (5) or the turbine (4) and supplies active power and reactive power.
