The fixture has heatable stamp (1) whose die head (4) is configured to engage fusible material with existing rivet (7) in pressure contact in order to deform existing rivet with heat and pressure. A cooling device is provided for cooling down the deformed rivets. The cooling device is provided with cooling element (28) that is movable between contact position, in which the cooling element is provided in thermally conductive contact with die head of heatable stamp, and non-contact position, in which the cooling element is spaced apart from die head of heatable stamp.
