Provided are an LED lamp bar (20) and a backlight module using the LED lamp bar (20). The LED lamp bar (20) comprises: a heat-dissipation bar (2), a PCB board (4) provided on the heat-dissipation bar (2), an LED chip (6) provided on the heat-dissipation bar (2) and electrically connected to the PCB board (4), and a thermal interface material layer (8) provided between the LED chip (6) and the heat-dissipation bar (2). For the LED lamp bar (20) and the backlight module using the LED lamp bar (20), the LED chip (6) is provided on a heat-dissipation bar (2) with a desirable heat conduction effect, thereby eliminating a process in the prior art where heat transfer needs to be performed through the PCB board (4) with a poor heat-dissipation effect. The process of the present invention is simple, and the whole heat-dissipation path is short, thereby achieving a desirable heat-dissipation effect and ensuring the backlight quality.
