Provided are a configuration and triggering method for a channel state information (CSI) process, a base station and a user equipment. The configuration method for a channel state information (CSI) process comprises: acquiring the processing capability for a channel state information (CSI) process of a user equipment (UE); sending configuration information about the channel state information (CSI) process to the user equipment (UE), so as to enable the user equipment to measure channel state information (CSI) according to the configured channel state information (CSI) process; and receiving channel state information (CSI) fed back by the user equipment (UE) according to the information about the configured channel state information (CSI) process; information about X channel state information (CSI) processes in the configuration information about the channel state information (CSI) process corresponding to the same carrier, X being greater than the number of the channel state information (CSI) processes corresponding to the carriers in the processing capability for the channel state information (CSI) process of the user equipment (UE). The present invention can achieve that a base station flexibly configures a channel state information (CSI) process for the user equipment (UE).
