In a lubrication system for motor-cycle gears, lubricant is conveyed by a gear-wheel 1 from a sump and into a wedge-shaped slot formed between said wheel 1 and a wall 3, which along with a recess in a gear-box 10 and a cover 6, forms said sump. At the narrow end of the wedge-shaped slot is a lubricant-collector 4 which is connected to the gear-space of a changespeed gear by a bore 5. In use, the gears are wet by the lubricant, the excess of which is collected by the collector 4 and returned, via the gear space of the change-speed gear and an aperture (not shown), to the sump. |
