PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional optical transmitter that a heavy load is applied to a supervisory control unit in the transmitter when the supervisory information increases due to increase of transponders or multi-function thereof, and thereby notification to the supervisory controller is not completed properly.SOLUTION: An optical transmitter having a transponder for transmitting and receiving an optical signal, and transmitting the supervisory information of the transponder to a supervisory controller includes a first supervisory control unit for transmitting the aggregate notification information as the supervisory information of the transponder on the basis of a request from the supervisory controller, a second supervisory control unit for generating the aggregate notification information by aggregating the supervisory information for a certain period of the transponder, and transmitting the aggregate notification information thus generated to the first supervisory control unit, and a third supervisory control unit for supervising the transponder directly and transmitting the supervisory information of the transponder, at an arbitrary timing, to the second supervisory control unit. |
