PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutter capable of producing substantially consistent cutting surfaces by stabilizing bending stress and tension on an optical fiber and easily making an adjustment to obtain desired cutting surfaces.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cutter 1A includes; a clamping mechanism for clamping an optical fiber 60; a slider 12 movably attached to a cutter main body; a round blade member 19 attached to the slider 12; an upper anvil 23 which is pressed against the optical fiber 60 that has been scratched by the round blade member 19 to bend and cut the optical fiber 60; and a lower anvil 25 which is brought into contact with the optical fiber 60 from a direction opposite the upper anvil 23 at a position different from a position at which the upper anvil 23 is pressed against the optical fiber 60. Movement of the slider 12 after the optical fiber 60 is clamped causes scratching action by the round blade member 19, movement of the lower anvil 25, and pressing action of the upper anvil 23 against the optical fiber 60 to be made sequentially. |
