PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium silicate-based material more excellent in elution properties of a medicine when used for formulation.SOLUTION: There is provided a calcium silicate-based material containing a calcium silicate having a gyrolite crystal structure, wherein (1) the calcium silicate-based material has a median pore diameter of 0.3 μm or more and (2) the calcium silicate-based material contains an alkali metal component and the content of the alkali metal is 0.2 wt.% or more.
