PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine preventing deformation of a stator core due to fastening force applied to the stator core fixed by shrink fitting or press-fitting.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine comprises: a cylindrical housing 112 comprising a plurality of flanges 115 attached to a case; a stator 130 comprising a cylindrical stator core 132 fixed to the housing 112 by shrink-fitting or press-fitting; and a rotor arranged rotatably in the stator. The stator core 132 comprises a plurality of laminated steel sheets. The stator core 132 also comprises welded portions 200, for preventing deformation of the steel sheets, provided at positions corresponding to the flanges 115 of the housing 112.
