<p>This organic EL element is equipped with a transparent electrode, an organic layer containing a light-emitting layer, and a metallic electrode, provided in said order on a substrate. The organic EL element is characterized by: the metallic electrode having a plurality of radiation projections/recesses arranged periodically in at least one direction of the surface on the organic layer side thereof; the transparent electrode having a higher refractive index than the refractive index of the substrate, and being provided with lens structures which protrude towards the substrate at the interface with the substrate; and the lens structures being arranged at the same intervals as the radiation projections/recesses and in the direction in which the radiation projections/recesses are periodically arranged.</p> |
