<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element that includes a semiconductor layer containing metallic compounds in a plurality of pits.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element 100 includes: a plurality of salients 113 protruding from a top surface of a substrate 111; a first semiconductor layer 121 on the substrate 111; a plurality of first pits 13 recessed from a top surface of the first semiconductor layer 121 and opening a part of each salient 113; a plurality of second pits 14 recessed from the top surface of the first semiconductor layer 121; first metallic compounds 123 disposed in the first pits 13 and being in contact with upper portions of the salients; second metallic compounds 124 disposed in the second pits 14; a second semiconductor layer 131 on the first semiconductor layer 121; and a light-emitting structure 130 on the second semiconductor layer 131. The light-emitting structure 130 includes a first-conductivity-type semiconductor layer 133, an active layer 135 on the first-conductivity-type semiconductor layer 133, and a second-conductivity-type semiconductor layer 137 on the active layer 135. The first and the second metallic compounds 123 and 124 include a material different from that in the first and the second semiconductor layers 121 and 131.</p> |
