PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a reduction in correction accuracy of a density detection sensor without providing a special mechanism.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an image carrier 50, a transfer unit 60, a density detection sensor 91, and a control unit 100. The density detection sensor 91 is arranged on the downstream side of the transfer unit 60 on the image carrier 50 to detect the density of a toner of a correction patch. The control unit 100 sets provisional light intensity P1 of a light emission unit so that a detection value of the density detection sensor 91 becomes a predetermined value before correcting image formation conditions. The control unit 100 then compares the set provisional light intensity P1 with a preset threshold for determining distortion of a belt of the image carrier 10, so as to determine the light intensity of the light emission unit of the density detection sensor 91. |
