Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a user equipment for acquiring a received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The method comprises: acquiring a measurement subframe, the measurement subframe comprising an interference signal; and determining an RSSI of the measurement subframe, the RSSI being determined on the basis of the measurement subframe undergoing interference deletion, and the interference deletion being deleting the interference signal in the measurement subframe. Through the technical solutions of the present invention, the measurement subframe comprising the interference signal is first acquired, and then the RSSI is determined on the basis of a measurement subframe undergoing interference deletion, thereby improving the accuracy of measuring the RSSI value by the UE, and further enhancing the accuracy of measuring the RSRQ value.
