<p>The present invention addresses the problem of keeping application in vehicles equipped with cruise control systems from becoming complicated. An engined car is equipped with an engine (1), an automatic transmission (2) and a cruise control system. The transmission control device of the engined car has: a transmission control unit (27) for calculating, when not in cruise control, a target transmission gear ratio on the basis of the accelerator pedal opening angle (APO1) and the vehicle speed (VSP); a step (S1) for calculating, during cruise control, the target drive force that is necessary during the cruise control; a step (S2) for calculating the transmission output shaft torque on the basis of the target drive force; a step (S3) for calculating the maximum engine torque at the current engine rotation frequency; and a step (S4) for calculating the target transmission gear ratio by dividing the transmission output shaft torque by the maximum engine torque.</p> |
