The image processor (10) further comprises: a RAM (15) which stores in a volatile manner identification information of the endoscope (30) and image processing information; a ROM (14) which stores in a non-volatile manner the identification information and image processing information stored in the RAM (15); an image processing unit (12) which performs image processing on an imaging signal from the endoscope (30) on the basis of the image processing information stored in the RAM (15); and a CPU (13). When the endoscope (30) and the image processor (10) are connected and the CPU (13) receives the identification information from the endoscope (30), the CPU (13) copies the identification information and the image processing information from the ROM (14) to the RAM (15) when said identification information is stored in the ROM (14), and copies the identification information and the image processing information from a ROM (32) of the endoscope (30) to the RAM (15) when said identification information is not stored in the ROM (14).</p>
