The method involves forming a bent edge section (8) according to mating of two sheet metal portions (1,2). The acute angle of the edge section is sent through electromagnetic transformation with edge area of metal portion (2) so that the metal portions are welded together. An adhesive (9) is applied in a corner region (10) between edges of metal portion. A surviving portion (12) of the metal portion (2) is formed as a sticking portion and flexed to the metal portion (2) around edge of the metal portion (1), for formation of a fold portion (14) with U-shaped cross-section. An independent claim is included for component fixation.
