PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer medium and a protective layer transfer sheet, which has a good peel-off property when removing a transfer layer of a predetermined area and from which a highly durable printed material can be obtained.SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer medium 10 includes a protective layer 3 and a reception layer 4 laminated on one surface of a substrate sheet 1. The protective layer 3 includes a kneaded material of two or more binder resins having different number average molecular weight (Mn). The sum total (&Sgr;) of the number average molecular weight (Mn) of each component multiplied by respective content ratio is within a range of 3000-17000.
