PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot rolled steel sheet for manufacturing a nonoriented electromagnetic steel sheet excellent in not only magnetic properties such as iron loss or magnetic flux density, but also recyclability or surface appearance of the steel sheet.SOLUTION: A hot rolled steel sheet has a specific component composition and an acid cleaning weight loss after firing the hot rolled steel sheet in nitrogen atmosphere at 1000°C for 30 sec. and immersing it into 7% HCl solution at 80°C for 60 sec. of 40 g/mto 100 g/m.
