摘要 A stacked organic photosensitive optoelectronic device (900) optimized to enhance desired characteristics such as external quantum efficiency and current. The photosensitive optoelectronic device (900) has a plurality of photosensitive 5 optoelectronic subcells (903, 904, 905), electrically configured in parallel. The substrate (901) may be the bottom electrode or there may be a bottom electrode distinct from the substrate. Each subcell (903) comprises one or more organic photoconductive layers (903a, 903b, 903c, 903d) between electrode layers. The thicknesses of the subcells and the total number of subeells may be selected, for example, so as to maximize the 10 external quantum efficiency of a stacked solar cell. In one embodiment the top electrode (902c) is transparent. In other embodiments two or more electrodes (902a, 902b, 902c) are transparent.
