PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome disadvantages of known gongs and in particular to provide a gong for a striking-work device of a timepiece, which is of simple design and which has an amplitude and a period of vibrations predetermined during fabrication thereof.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a gong 1 for a striking-work device of a timepiece. The gong 1 includes a spring blade 1.1 forming a main body of the gong and adapted to act as a vibrating member so as to produce a sound following an actuation. The spring blade 1.1 includes at least one opening 1.2 formed in its main body.
