Wheel information that includes IDa is transmitted from each of the plurality of wheels at a timing at which a wheel-side unit reaches a top dead center. The rotation positions of four wheels are detected by respective wheel speed sensors (S12) at a timing at which a receiver receives the wheel information including IDa, during a set time, and a tally in which each detection value lies within a set range is acquired (S15, 16), then the wheel position is specified (S18). If no wheel position can be specified, the brake force of each wheel is controlled (S22) so as to give rise to a rotational angular speed difference between two wheels. Thereafter, the detection values are acquired again, the corresponding tallies are acquired, and the wheel position is specified.
