PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle opening part opening/closing apparatus which inhibits the increase of repair costs of the vehicle opening part opening/closing apparatus, and to provide an abnormality detection method of the vehicle opening part opening/closing apparatus which detects abnormality of the vehicle opening part opening/closing apparatus.SOLUTION: A back door opening part opening/closing apparatus 10 includes a spindle unit 16 which moves a back door 12 between a closed position A and a fully opened position B of the back door 12. The spindle unit 16 is supported by a first bracket 18 attached to a rear part of a vehicle body 22 and a second bracket 20 attached to the back door 12. Further, rigidity of the second bracket 20 is set so as to be lower than rigidity of the spindle unit 16.
