When a user performs a closing operation of a touch screen slide type cellular phone and the closing operation is performed in a state where the touch screen is contacted, a CPU continuously puts a display and the touch screen into an ON state, which continuously allows touch operations on the touch screen. In contrast, when the closing operation is made without the user's physical contact with the touch screen, the CPU continuously puts the display and the touch screen into an OFF state. Accordingly, reduction of wasteful power consumption can be easily realized without impairing the usability for a user and without requiring complicated control. |
