The device (10) has an extension section (13) arranged and fastened perpendicular at a lateral leg (15) of a U-shaped fastening section (12) by welding. The fastening section includes fastening points (16) on the leg and another lateral leg (17). A retaining section (14) includes a closed geometry, which is designed in a round shape i.e. ellipse shape. The retaining section is fastened on the extension section by welding. The fastening section, the extension section and/or the retaining section are integrally made of plastic. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a safety system (2) a method for manufacturing a covered safety system for a steep roof.
