PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which prevents leakage of constituent fiber of an absorbent core through a liquid permeable layer from a non-coating area, which is probably caused when a liquid is absorbed to lower the strength of the absorbent core.SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin (1) includes a top sheet (2), a back sheet (3), and an absorbent core (4) provided between the top sheet (2) and the back sheet (3). The absorbent core (4) having a non-coating area where its constituent fiber is exposed to the surface to directly come into contact with the top sheet (2) contains a thermoplastic resin fiber containing unsaturated carboxylic acid, unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride or a mixture thereof as a monomer component at a mass mixture ratio of 1/9 or more to a cellulose type water absorbing fiber, and the fiber fall-off rate in the wet state of the absorbent core (4) is 13.3% or less. |
