PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bismuth-based glass that facilitates conversion of a laser beam to thermal energy, exhibits excellent flowability, and also contributes to a lower melting point, and a sealing material using the same.SOLUTION: A bismuth-based glass comprises, as a glass composition, expressed in mass% based on the following oxides, BiO: 70-90%, BO: 2-12%, ZnO: 1-15%, CuO+FeO: 0.2-15%, and MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO: 0.1-20%. |
