PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grille shutter device capable of suppressing deterioration of durability of parts arranged in the vehicle body and occurrence of failures due to the deterioration of durability.SOLUTION: A grille shutter device includes a shutter mechanism capable of controlling the flow rate of air flowing into the engine room by opening and closing the opening of the grille in the front of the vehicle body and an ECU controlling the operation of the shutter mechanism. When the shutter mechanism is in a closed state, the ECU determines whether or not the engine room is in a high-temperature state, more specifically, whether or not individual parts arranged in the engine room are in such a thermal environment that deterioration of resins, rubbers, etc. constituting the individual parts worsens by the heat, or the temperature of the atmosphere. The ECU also measures the heat influence time t in which the engine room is in a high-temperature state and restricts the operation of the shutter mechanism on the basis of the heat influence time t. |
