PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and image formation method capable of suppressing occurrences of color unevenness and color skipping over the entire density gradation area in which dots of a dark color and a pale color coexist even when a deviation in hue occurs between the dark color and the pale color.SOLUTION: Hue difference information between the color of a flat tint image (42) of the dark color and the color of the flat tint image (42) of the pale color on a recording medium (40) is received. As a hue difference obtained by referring to the hue difference information is larger, a recording characteristic (36) having the wider mixed color range being a density gradation area in which the dark color and the pale color coexist is set. Then, the recording characteristic (36) is used to convert an inputted image signal into a control signal to be used to control a recording head (106). |
