The system has heat-recovery boiler (AK) arranged in downstream of turbine (GT). The exhaust gas (10) in turbine is supplied to boiler and the highly pressurized process fluid in boiler is evaporated to process steam (20) by heat exchange with exhaust gas. A diverting device controllably diverts the partial steam (22) of process steam and an expansion arrangement performs expansion of partial stream on lower pressure level to provide low pressure load with heat energy. A steam engine drives a generator (G2) to produce electric power by high pressurized partial steam. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a system for generating process steam.
