METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REDUCING INTERFERENCE BETWEEN A POWER LINE CARRIER SIGNAL AND A VDSL TYPE SIGNAL

The method involves determining a very high bit rate asymmetric digital subscriber line (VDSL)type carrier frequency from a utilized frequency plan for transmission of VDSLtype signal whose spectral power density level is higher than a preset threshold. A current carrier line type carrier frequency common with the determined VDSLtype signal is determined from another frequency plan for transmission of a current carrier line signal. Number of bits (NCPL) assigned to the determined current carrier line type frequency is reduced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for reducing interference between a power line carrier signal transmitted over a power line and a very high bit rate asymmetric digital subscriber line type signal transmitted over a telephone line located close to the power line (2) a current carrier modem comprising determinations units.
