PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molybdenum plate having excellent deep formability so as to be usable for an electrode for a cold cathode tube at a cost lower than the conventional one, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The molybdenum plate has a molybdenum content of≥99.95 mass%, and, provided that the elongation direction of the structure of the sheet surface is defined as a 0°direction, and the Lankford values r in the respective directions of 0°, 45°and 90°are defined as r0, r45 and r90, inequality ¾r0+r90-2r45¾/2≤1.0 showing anisotropy is satisfied, and also, glossiness of the sheet surface is≥750 Gloss(20°). The molybdenum plate is obtained in such a manner that the ratio in working ratio between the primary hot rolling stage and the secondary cold rolling stage (cold rolling working ratio/hot rolling working ratio) is controlled to be in the range of 0.802 to 0.981, and also, by performing final rolling at a working ratio of≥7% by rolling rolls each having hardness of≥95 by Hs and also having surface roughness of≤0.2μm by Ra.
