PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifying cartridge and water purifier which can prevent shape losing of molded activated carbon and make the size of the water purifying cartridge small without damaging the adsorptivity of a filter medium. SOLUTION: The water purifying cartridge is provided with a cylindrical body 44 both ends of which are opened, in a case 13, accommodates activated carbon 56 obtained by molding fibrous activated carbon into a fixed shape by using a binder, a hollow fiber membrane 57, and a flow straightening plate 54 in the inside of the cylindrical body 44, and purifies raw water taken into the case 13 by passing the raw water from the inlet 47 to the outlet 48 of the cylindrical body 44. At least a part of the cylindrical body 44 is provided with a reduced diameter part 53a which tapers off from the inlet 47 side to the outlet 48 side. At least a part of the activated carbon 56 comes into contact with the inner wall surface of the cylindrical body 44 at the reduced diameter part 53a. The hollow fiber membrane 57 is fixed inside the cylindrical body 44. The flow straightening plate 54 is disposed between the hollow fiber membrane 57 and the activated carbon 56.
